Transportation

The standard mast raising is integrated into the roller furling system and is raised and lowered using the boat's winches. Support lines and drum pole keep the roller furling under control and bring it right down into position.

Launching
|
|
The boat is easy to launch and to trailer with the standard dual axle galvanized trailer. The trailer is equipped with surge brakes and fresh water flush out system.

The cabin area
|
When entering the cabin, which provides full standing headroom, the enclosed head is on the starboard side, and the galley is on the port. Forward is a large double v-berth with plush cushions. Above the v-berth is a large opening hatch for ventilation. The salon table is mounted on the swing up-keel’s trunk. This makes passage to the
v-berth a breeze. The entire cabin is finished with beautiful oak.

|
Looking toward the rear of the cabin, you can see the two salon seats, with the convenient storage areas above them. To the port side is the galley, starboard side is the enclosed head, and under the cockpit area is a full double berth.

|
The enclosed head comes equipped with a sink and electric faucet. Under the sink is storage, with two doors for easy access. The head comes with an opening port, Three other opening ports help keep the main cabin ventilated. The boat’s battery compartment (room for two batteries) is accessible through the rear of the head compartment.

The power
The powering capabilities, set it apart from most other sailboats. With the 75 hp outboard will go 22 mph. This feature allows for greater flexibility in the scheduling of trips. No longer are your trips dependent on the wind, as before, or on the distance you can sail. The motor allows you to get to your weekend destination quickly, and then spend the weekend sailing from cove to cove. When the weekend is over, empty your ballast tank, pull up your swing keel and rudders, drop your motor and head for home. This boat is quite simply, a really good powerboat. The double chinned hull and sharp entry handles the waves very efficiently. At high speed, it has a very solid, comfortable, stable ride. The steering system is connected to both the rudders and the outboard using the standard outboard control rod. When motoring, the rudders are raised and the boat steers as you would a conventional powerboat.
Raise the motor and drop the twin rudders, and it steers like a convention sailboat.
Sailing performance
 |
The great sailing performance, of this model, makes it one of the best trailerable sailboats, on the market. The boat is light and moves well under light air. The 28's lightweight and planning style hull allows the boat to get up on the top of the water and plane.
Most other sailboats, of this size, with their round displacement hulls, will not exceed their hull speed of 5 to 6 mph.
The standard roller furling allows the foresail to be rolled to the desired size needed for the current wind speed. This can be controlled from the cockpit, as all lines are lead aft. The anodized mast contains internal halyards for the mainsail, jib, jib cover, and spinnaker.
The mainsail is easy to control, as the sail comes installed with slug, and drops easily into the standard mainsail cover/lazy jack combination.

The swing keel keeps the boat from sliding sideways when sailing into the wind. A line controls the keel, which is lead aft to the cockpit. The keel can be pulled completely up for powering, beaching and easy trailering.

The water ballast system
This powersailer is self-righting with the water ballast filled. It will return to an upright position after being pulled over on it side. The ballast can be easily filled and emptied. The fill valve is located on the stern, and the air vent is under the v-berth. When you’re ready to sail, pull the vent valve and open the stern inlet. The ballast tank fills in less than 10 minutes. When the tank is full, close the valves and set sail. Empting the tank is just as easy, open the valves and bring the boat up on plane. The forward motion empties the tank, it takes about 10 minutes. You can also empty the tank by placing the boat back on the trailer. The water ballast system reduces the trailering weight, by leaving the ballast behind.
The cocpit area
|
The cockpit area is over 6 foot and comes standard with seat cushions. There are large storage areas under each seat. They are a great place to store wet items like life jackets, fenders, and dock lines, etc. The captains seat is off set, this allows the captain to stay seated when the walk thru transom is in use. The standard swim ladder and handle leads to a large platform. Even with the large engine, it's still easy to move past and into the cockpit thru the hinged seat.

Other features
The European craftsmanship is seen throughtout, from the beautiful oak interior, the finished storage areas, to the stainless steel handle rails, and the list goes on. The boat has been well thought out, taking into account what features the average boat owner would prefer on his boat. These features have been made standard on this particular model.
